SIA Door Supervisor Training Course FAQs

When will I receive my certificate of completion?

Once you've completed your training and passed the door supervisor course, you'll be ready to work as a door supervisor. You should receive your certificate within ten business days, depending on the granting agency.

Is it possible for a door supervisor to also serve as a security guard?

Yes, a door supervisor can work as a regular security guard. However, a security guard cannot work as a door supervisor because door supervisors must complete the necessary training in order to work in a licensed establishment.

Is it better to take a door supervisor course or a security guard course?

The door supervisor certification is superior and provides excellent value for money. A door supervisor can do all of the duties of a regular security guard, but he can also operate in licensed establishments, such as those that deal with alcohol. As a result, if you want to work in security, we recommend doing the SIA door supervisor training rather than the security guard course.

How long does it take to receive an SIA licence?

You will receive your certificate once you have finished the door supervisor training. You must fill out the SIA application form, which may be found on the SIA website. It usually takes 3 to 4 weeks to complete the process and receive your SIA licence.

What are the entry requirements for the door supervisor course?

Lessons and training are delivered in English. Therefore, individuals who want to take the door supervisor course should have a good command of the English language.
